Dear Valued Customer,
It is our deep regret that we have to inform you that MOL Comfort /005W21, deployed in our Loop 1 on the Asia to Europe trade, has encountered rough sea condition and has been damaged on hull, and reportedly there are water ingress in some cargo holds. There is possibility of heavy damage to the vessel, as well as containers on board.

Dear Valued Customer,
Further to the letter dated yesterday, please be informed as follows.
MOL-operated containership MOL Comfort/005W21, under sail from Singapore to Jeddah on the Indian Ocean (12’30”N 60’E) at about noon JST (07:00 local time) on June 17, 2013, encountered rough sea condition, and suffered a crack amidships as well as ingressing water in the hold.
This made it impossible for the vessel to continue her voyage on under its own power.
Some of the containers on the vessel were lost overboard or suffered damage during the incident. Details are under investigation by the vessel operator. Reportedly the damage to the MOL Comfort is extensive, while the 26 crew members evacuated from the ship by lifeboats and were safely rescued by other vessel in the area.

Further to the letter dated today, please be informed as follows.
- It has been reported from a vessel nearby the MOL Comfort that the hull of the MOL Comfort has been split into two sections, however both sections are seen afloat and at stable condition as of sundown on June.17.
- Majority of the containers remain onboard.
- After sundown, it has been reported from radars of nearby vessels that the two sections have been confirmed afloat since then.
- Further details are under investigation by the vessel operator.

Dear Valued Customer,
Further to the letter dated today, please be informed as follows.
-According to reports from vessels nearby the location of the MOL Comfort accident, as of June.18 07:00 local time, both sections of the MOL Comfort are seen afloat at stable conditions.
-The fore part of the hull is drifting around 13'00"N 60'40"E, and the aft part is about 19 miles southwest from that point. At present, both parts of the ship are laden with containers and drifting in an east-northeast direction.
-The vessel operator is considering to arrange tugboats to tow both parts.
- Further details are under investigation by the vessel operator.
